Dr. Chiara Trovatello is recipient of the Blavatnik Regional Finalist Award for Young Scientists in Physical Sciences and Engineering 2024. Nominated by Columbia University, she is recognized for the development of new nano-engineered material platforms for optical computing, a critical step on the path towards innovative imaging and information processing methods in quantum technologies. The 10.000 USD award supports young scientists who are working in physical sciences and engineering, chemical sciences, and life sciences, and additionally comes with a one-year membership to the New York Academy of Sciences.

Established by the Blavatnik Family Foundation in 2007, this award is independently administered by the New York Academy of Sciences. The Award Ceremony took place on Oct. 1, 2024, at the American Museum of Natural History of New York.
